All eyes are on D4vd since his arrest in the investigation into the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a teenager whose dismembered and decomposed body was found in the trunk of a car registered in his name. Shortly after his arrest, Nathan Hochmann, prosecutor for Los Angeles County, announced that the American rapper was charged with first-degree murder, lewd conduct with a minor under 14, and mutilation of a corpse. He will remain “in detention without possibility of bail” facing life imprisonment without parole, or even the death penalty. While David Anthony Burke, his real name, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a document released by the Los Angeles district attorney’s office on Wednesday reveals that the rapper allegedly stabbed her to death at his Hollywood Hills home on April 23, 2025, before dismembering her body with a chainsaw purchased online. “The defendant took horrifying steps to destroy and dispose of the victim’s body,” the document obtained by TMZ states.
D4vd allegedly amputated two fingers of Celeste Rivas, according to the accusation. The artist behind “Romantic Homicide” reportedly ordered a shovel from Home Depot the day after Celeste Rivas’ murder. A week later, he allegedly purchased two chainsaws on Amazon, which were delivered to his home. He also reportedly acquired a body bag, resistant laundry bags, and a blue inflatable pool. Prosecutors claim the artist made the purchases under a fake name: “Victoria Mendez.” D4vd supposedly placed the teenager’s body in the blue inflatable pool to prevent blood from spreading on the garage floor. He then allegedly used a chainsaw to dismember her. The document further alleges that the rapper amputated two fingers of the girl’s left hand because she had a tattoo of his name on her ring finger.
D4vd allegedly killed Celeste Rivas after she threatened to “destroy his life.” According to the accusation, D4vd met Celeste Rivas Hernandez when she was 11 years old. He allegedly began a sexual relationship with her when she was 13 and he was 18. The document released by the Los Angeles district attorney’s office alleges that the teenager sent him several text messages, threatening to expose their illicit relationship and “destroy his life.” The young girl, missing for several months, was finally found on September 8, the day before her 15th birthday. Her dismembered and highly decomposed body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered in the American artist’s name.
