The Narbonne association Odyssée Musique presented a support check to the Association of Mayors of Aude in order to help the communities affected by the fires during the summer of 2025.
The official presentation of the check took place in Trèbes between Christian Bouquet, president of Odyssée Musique, and Éric Ménassi, president of the Association of Mayors of Aude. This act of solidarity followed a musical audition by students of the Music Center held on March 28 at the Château de Montplaisir.
Thanks to the mobilization of students, families, volunteers, and the audience who attended the musical event, the association was able to raise funds for the affected communities. Christian Bouquet noted, “This contribution may be modest (300 euros), but we hope it will provide useful assistance and encourage other solidarity initiatives.”
“A message of support and solidarity”
Deeply involved in charitable actions, the association Odyssée Musique regularly implements initiatives that combine culture and solidarity. For its members, it was important “to provide concrete support to the communities in Aude devastated by the fires, which have had serious consequences on the region.” Following the fire in the Corbières region in August 2025, the Association of Mayors of Aude established a solidarity fund to financially support the severely impacted local authorities.
Éric Ménassi expressed his gratitude for this generous gesture, saying, “On behalf of the Association of Mayors of Aude and the communities affected by the fires, I warmly thank the association Odyssée Musique for this wave of solidarity. Behind this donation, there is a significant message of support and solidarity.”
Through this action, the volunteers of the association wanted to show their solidarity towards the residents of the department and emphasize that music can also be a vehicle for generosity and sharing.
