The Sérénade No. 13 in G major “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”, K. 525 – better known in French as “Une petite musique de nuit” – is a serenade for strings composed by Mozart in 1787. Its first movement begins with one of the most well-known themes in classical music. It is Mozart’s last serenade.

Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is a set of four concertos for violin, composed in 1723. It is perhaps Vivaldi’s most famous composition and the most performed musical work in the world. It is a violin concerto where the soloist is accompanied by a chamber orchestra. The content of each part is varied and evokes each of the seasons to which it refers. For example, the winter is punctuated by pizzicato notes on the high strings, reminiscent of icy rain, while the summer evokes a storm in the final movement, prepared by the thunder that rumbles several times in the movement.

The Radetzky March (Opus 228) is a famous Viennese military march by Johann Strauss father composed in 1848. The first time the march is played in front of Austrian officers, they spontaneously begin to beat the pulse of the music with their hands and feet while listening to the refrain. This tradition is still maintained today by the public familiar with the custom.
