Warning to all fans of serious cinema: Bagarre is not for you. For his first feature film in theaters (his two previous films, En Passant pêcho and Nouveaux riches, were released directly on Netflix), Julien Royal brings a breath of fresh air to French cinema. The story follows Naim, a kind beach attendant from Marseille who clearly did not invent anything groundbreaking. However, while his intellectual abilities are limited, his physical strength is simply incredible. A heaven-sent gift that leads him to work for Allé Bagarre, a street fighting service. Of course, the film is not always subtle and sometimes borders on pure silliness. But it would be a shame to overlook this comedy with contagious energy and rapid-fire dialogue that matches the speed of the blows thrown by Naim and his friends on screen. In the lead role, Nassim Lyes shines as a naïve hero full of testosterone. So, the only advice is to prepare for a fight! ALF
