She is one of the talents revealed by the Star Academy. On January 25, 2025, Marine, 24 years old, won the famous singing competition against Ebony. Since then, projects have been lining up for the singer from the North. Her first album, “Awkward Heart,” experienced a meteoric success, surpassing the symbolic milestone of 100,000 copies sold in France at the beginning of the year. Last October 31, the young woman, now 25 years old, also won the NRJ Music Award for Francophone Female Revelation of the Year. “I am so happy. I didn’t really believe it. At the last minute, I didn’t feel it because it was stressful but in fact, I am so happy,” she said in an interview on NRJ. But it hasn’t been as easy for the singer of “My Fault.”

Marine failed at the blind auditions of The Voice Kids in 2014

In 2015, at the age of 14, she was selected to participate in the TV show The Voice Kids. She then performed Adele’s song “Rolling in the Deep.” Despite her performance, she did not pass the blind auditions. In an interview excerpt unveiled on Thursday, April 16 on Cstar, the young woman reflected on this destabilizing first experience: “I started to sing a verse, a chorus and I realized they weren’t going to turn. I sang the song and no one turned around. The drama. At first, I acted like I tried to keep a good face and not cry on TV,” she explained. She also added, “When I started singing, I sang a lot of English pop, so I said Lana Del Rey. But there were also a lot of Adele, Rihanna, Sia. They were very vocal singers, and that’s what I liked to sing.”

Marine will release a documentary that reveals the behind-the-scenes of her post-Star Academy year

Despite this setback, Marine Delplace did not give up, and she is now one of the key figures in the French music scene. After the reissue of her first album and the extension of her tour, she will release a documentary next April 22, “At Home,” which looks back on her intense and emotion-filled year. “I share so many things with you that I wanted to show you a bit of the behind-the-scenes of this life, from my exit from the Star Academy to my first tour, through the first ideas, the album creation in the studio, the questions, the encounters, the rehearsals, etc.,” she explained in an Instagram video posted on Wednesday, April 15. A new project that is sure to delight all her fans!
