For the second race on Sunday, April 19, Paul Jouffreau started on the front row alongside Ercoli, the winner of the first race. After three laps, and some engine issues, Ercoli dropped back and Paul Jouffreau took the lead ahead of American O’Brien and Vittorio Ghirelli. He held onto it until the 11th lap where a flat tire cost him the victory. O’Brien took the lead but mechanical problems forced him to retire. Vittorio Ghirelli then took the lead and secured his first victory in 2026. He beat Lowe and Piquet Jr. Former Formula E world champion in 2015, Nelson Piquet Jr. makes his debut in the Nascar Euro Series with a rich and versatile racing background.
Frustrated but positive
“Clearly, there is frustration when you are leading and have to retire due to a flat tire. But what I take away is the positive with a podium in the first race. The speed is there, the level too, and I invite my supporters to the Circuit du Castellet on May 24 and 24 for the next two events,” highlighted Paul Jouffreau, after the two Spanish races.
