When two sports enthusiasts meet, projects are born. Julien, a coach at L’Orange bleue du Soler, and Joëlle, founder of a support space for women affected by all types of cancers in Perpignan, La maison entre parenthèses, have joined forces around a common goal: to promote physical activity and strengthen the health of women engaged in the fight against the disease. Thanks to an intergenerational meeting, Julien has developed a weekly schedule allowing participants to discover various practices in the gym: boxing, Pilates, cardio, and muscle strengthening. Adapting these sessions to the fragility of those affected by the disease is not easy, but this pedagogical challenge is met with enthusiasm.
For Joëlle, the objective is clear: to prepare her members for the 2026 challenge, high-altitude sports, a demanding yet stimulating sports challenge.
Today, ten “parentheses” found themselves surrounded by athletes accustomed to gym environments, united in their efforts during a cycling session. Rhythmic by music and guided by Julien’s advice, they moved through muscle strengthening and cardio exercises in a playful and motivating atmosphere. Congratulations to all: each managed their fatigue and remained autonomous. It was difficult to leave the gym after this moment of sharing, punctuated by symbolic gifts offered to Julien as a sign of gratitude. A beautiful promise for the next year.
