Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola explained that he did not watch PSG-Bayern Munich live, jokingly saying he “looked at the schedule” and thought “what a bad match.” Guardiola, seen in the stands at a third-division English match, chose to attend the League One match between Stockport County and Port Vale instead of watching the enticing Champions League semi-final between PSG and Bayern Munich. Guardiola jokingly criticized other coaches Luis Enrique and “Vinny” (Kompany), calling them “really, really bad, shitty players!” Guardiola expressed his love for English football and stated that he watched the match after returning from Stockport and will be watching the return leg on TV from his sofa.

Guardiola preferred to focus on the exciting football displayed by both teams rather than the defensive display at the Parc des Princes. He appreciated the spectacle of the game and mentioned that the next day’s match between Atlético Madrid and Arsenal was also enjoyable in a different style. Manchester City, the 2023 European champions, were eliminated in the round of 16 by Real Madrid this season.
