Donald Trump claims that the American military “destroyed seven small Iranian boats” in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, May 4. This operation was conducted after Tehran fired on several US Navy ships and commercial vessels. Apache and Seahawk helicopters were deployed to accomplish this.

These hostilities come on the first day of an American operation to assist ships stranded in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. On one hand, the US forces “effectively neutralized” all “missiles and drones fired against our forces and commercial shipping”, said Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the US military command for the Middle East (Centcom).

On Fox News, the US President also warned the Iranian forces that they would be “wiped off the face of the Earth” if they attempted to target American ships in the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf.

Tehran had earlier claimed to have fired “cruise missiles, rockets, and combat drones” at American vessels. However, a senior Iranian military official, cited by state television, denied the destruction of Iranian ships by the American aviation.
