Vietnam’s Foreign Policy Study Emphasizes Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology

The event featured comrade Nguyen Xuan Anh, a member of the Standing Committee, representatives from advisory and support agencies, Party committees at all levels in the country, and over 120 online connection points from 47 Party organizations abroad. The conference was hosted by Professor Dinh Xuan Dung, former member of the Central Theory Council and former vice president of the Literary and Artistic Criticism Council.

Professor Dinh Xuan Dung highlighted the depth and lasting value of Ho Chi Minh’s wisdom in Vietnam’s foreign policy, explaining the fundamental values that shaped the revolutionary ideology and diplomatic approach of President Ho Chi Minh. He discussed three key points: the characteristics of Ho Chi Minh’s philosophy in foreign policy; the central and fundamental aspects of this thinking; and its connection to the heritage and development of Ho Chi Minh’s thinking in the documents of the 14th Party Congress.

Emphasizing that nothing is more precious than independence and freedom, Professor Dinh Xuan Dung argued that the success of diplomatic activities, based on Ho Chi Minh’s philosophy, must rely on the nation’s internal strength.

Discussing the requirements for the development of diplomacy in the new era, Professor Dinh Xuan Dung outlined three major demands for current foreign policy activities: “global, modern, and professional.” The term “global” now extends beyond political or military spheres to include cultural and economic domains, promoting the country’s image and integrating the best of human culture.

Regarding the importance of the event, comrade Nguyen Xuan Anh stressed its role in implementing political tasks and Party propaganda work. He stated that the conference was organized in response to directives from the central propaganda department and the government to strengthen propaganda efforts in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh’s 136th birthday.

Through this activity, officials and Party members within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deepen their comprehensive understanding of Ho Chi Minh’s life, revolutionary path, and diplomatic thinking. This political initiative aligns with the spirit of Directive No. 05-CT/TW of May 15, 2016 from the Politburo, contributing to the Party’s innovation and improvement efforts.
