More than fifty enthusiasts met this Saturday morning at the Lunel Arboretum for the traditional plant fair organized by ORAL (Office de la Retraite Active en Lunelois).
From 8 a.m., around ten volunteers were present to set up the tables in the heart of the Lunel arboretum. Visitors quickly flocked. “More than fifty people came today, there are even more people than usual”rejoices Marie Gourc, president of the ORAL association.
“All plant lovers come here.”
Throughout the morning, the plants changed hands in a warm atmosphere. “People are very happy. Some still ask us: Oh, is it free?”she smiled. The principle is simple: everyone brings cuttings, seeds or plants that they no longer know what to do with, then leaves with new varieties. “My table was completely full this morning, I have almost nothing left,” says Marie. Martine and Gérard Bastien have been participating for around fifteen years: “We talk, we get to know each other, it’s all plant lovers who come here.”
