The indestructible AM4 socket has not yet said its last word. Against all odds, AMD plans to bring one of its most iconic chips back to life to mark the tenth anniversary of its historic platform. According to recent information, the manufacturer is preparing to market a special version called “AM4 10th Anniversary Edition” of its famous Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
A tribute to ten years of the AM4 socket
This processor, which revolutionized the gaming market thanks to the introduction of 3D V-Cache technology, returns to the forefront to offer a final makeover to existing configurations. This strategic choice highlights the exceptional longevity of the AM4 ecosystem, which continues to receive support and new components well after the launch of the next generation.
It is identical to the original 5800X3D; it is merely a so-called AM4 10th Anniversary Edition.

A solution to the tensions on DDR5
Beyond the celebration, this strategic movement by AMD responds to a pragmatic reality of the current market. The RAM sector is going through a period of strong turbulence, marked by a shortage of DDR5 which seriously complicates the assembly of new generation PCs. By relaunching this champion of Zen 3 architecture, AMD allows users to bypass a memory market that has become too complex and expensive.
An opportunity for existing configurations
This anniversary edition is already shaping up to be an object of desire for gamers wishing to maximize the performance of their current motherboard without having to invest in a complete transition to DDR5. AMD thus confirms its desire to reward the loyalty of its users with a product that marked a turning point in the history of consumer computing. It now remains to be seen whether it will be available in our regions.
