Nolwenn Leroy makes her big comeback on the small screen. After her performance in the series Brocéliande, she returns in L’été 36, a historical fresco that evokes the very first paid vacation in France, in 1936. In this unpublished fiction, which will be broadcast from this Monday, May 18 on TF1, she plays Giulia, the head governess of an establishment. A rigorous, upright woman, sometimes severe, who built herself alone after going through personal tragedies.

“I had a real crush on my character who is very complex and resonated with me on different levels, let’s say,” she explained in an interview given on Saturday, May 16 to our colleagues from Gala. At her side, three other women from different backgrounds will be involved in a sordid murder story.

“On ne s’est jamais quittées”: Nolwenn Leroy always close to Sofia Essaidi

Among them, Sofia Essaidi, a semi-finalist from season 3 of Star Academy, who has successfully established herself as an actress after starting in music. A joy for both women to meet on a film set, more than twenty years after being revealed by the musical talk show: “I knew Sofia well from years ago. We met in another life and we never really parted,” details Nolwenn Leroy in Gala.

If the Breton had won the TV show in season 2 against Houcine, Sofia had failed to make it to the final against Elodie on December 12, 2003. A complicity that remained intact between the two women. “With Nolwenn, on the set, something happened right away. An understanding, a softness… We found each other,” she recounted on her side in the columns of Télé Loisirs last March.

A new album for Nolwenn Leroy?

In the cast, also, Constance Gay and Julie de Bona: “We more or less knew each other. Constance plays my sister and has been a wonderful accomplice, a ray of sunshine. We didn’t have many chances to be all four of us, because in the end, there are only a few scenes together, but I can tell you that when we were all together, everyone knew. It was the joy of being together. We have become friends in life,” Nolwenn Leroy enthused to Gala.

There is no question, however, of putting aside singing: “Acting takes up a bit more space than expected. And I meet people who start to say to me: ‘But do you still sing?’ That says a lot… So, of course, I sing and I will come back soon,” concludes the mother of Marin. A highly anticipated return.
