Camille Cottin opens up about George Clooney and Jean Dujardin: They communicate through onomatopoeias

Like Marion Cotillard, Camille Cottin is one of the French actresses who are most successful internationally. Proof that she has become indispensable – even outside our borders – in recent years, she has had the opportunity to work with many Hollywood stars: whether it be Matt Damon in “Stillwater,” Lady Gaga in “House of Gucci,” Brad Pitt in “Allied,” or George Clooney in Nespresso ads, where she also crossed paths with her fellow countryman Jean Dujardin, a close friend of George. And the latter apparently is as nice as he seems, as Camille confirmed during her appearance on “Quelle Époque!” on France 2.

According to her, George Clooney is “very kind, very talkative, he tells a lot of stories, he meets you at your level,” she explained on the show hosted by Léa Salamé. So, it’s not an urban legend: he gets along very well with Jean Dujardin, whom he also directed in his film “Monuments Men.” But communication between the two is not so easy.

Why? Because Jean “doesn’t speak English very well,” as pointed out by Camille Cottin – which is why, in fact, he did not want to continue his career on the other side of the Atlantic after his Oscar, despite the numerous offers he received. As for George, well, he is not any better at French – even though he lives in France most of the year and recently obtained French nationality (but well…).

In short, these two are still friends and thus, “they communicate with onomatopoeias, they are very close,” Camille Cottin revealed. They are in “hey, hey mode, they do that all day long,” she joked. “It’s very sincere, you can clearly see they are happy to be together,” she added.

Last December, on the set of “C à vous,” George Clooney was effusive in his praise for his friend Jean, whom he finds “amazing.” “I adore him, he has incredible talent, Jean, he can do everything!” he said. “He sends me videos on the phone: you see a camel, Robert De Niro playing the role of a camel. Imagine that. Only Jean is capable of doing that!”
