Prompted by his partner Alexandra, Charles Leclerc has invested in an impressive fitness machine. A new passion for the Formula 1 driver as he explains in an interview.
It’s no secret, Charles Leclerc is a true addict. To drive his Formula 1 cars that reach speeds of over 300 km/h, he undergoes intense daily weightlifting sessions to maintain his physical condition. However, the 28-year-old driver recently decided to spice up his fitness program.
Indeed, the Monegasque star of Scuderia Ferrari revealed that he had succumbed to the current fitness trend adored by stars and models worldwide: Pilates on a Reformer machine.
Charles Leclerc wasn’t initially sold on the idea. And if the handsome brunette has taken the plunge, it is undeniably thanks to a gentle feminine influence in the house. That of his wife Alexandra Saint Mleux, who apparently had the idea to introduce this impressive equipment into their love nest. During his exchange with our colleagues at GQ, Charles Leclerc confessed to having become a fan. “We bought a Reformer for the house recently and I did my first session three weeks ago. So, it’s funny you ask this question because before that, I would’ve said ‘no thank you’,” he declared.
How much does a Reformer machine cost? Pilates Reformer is a formidable exercise for core strength and deep muscle strengthening. Between the straps, the mobile carriage, and the resistance of the springs, the machine aims to work the entire body. Charles Leclerc quickly realized this during the first exercises. “And I was very surprised,” he concluded with amusement, acknowledging the intensity of the effort.
If one can assume that the driver has opted for the top-of-the-line machine, there are several ranges of Reformers available. For a high-end professional model worthy of Pilates studios, the bill can quickly soar between 3,000 and over 10,000 euros. However, there are also very good mid-range models ranging between 1,000 and 2,500 euros, and even entry-level versions (often foldable to slide under the bed) starting from 300 to 500 euros.
