The sanction came the day after the defeat at Beaujoire.
Olympique de Marseille lost to FC Nantes on Saturday with a clear score of 3-0. The players were summoned on Sunday morning to the Commanderie, as reported by the newspaper l’Équipe. They were deprived of the usual rest day granted after league matches. The management decided to react firmly to this new underperformance.
A Busy Week for OM
In addition to this express summons, Marseille’s leaders have opted for a proven method this season: a team retreat. It will start on Monday evening at the Commanderie training center. The club has not specified the duration to Amine Gouiri’s teammates. The program will be communicated day by day. The next meeting for the Olympians is scheduled for next Sunday on the pitch of Le Havre AC.
This process is not unprecedented. The management had used it a few weeks ago. The first team retreat was then gradually eased. The Marseille leaders then considered that the group’s reaction met expectations. It remains to be seen if the desired effect will be reproduced.
