Nathan, 21 years old, dreams of the army since he was little. He was able to learn more about this sector during the discovery day of defense trades on Thursday, April 16 in Polyaéro. The armies of the land, air, and national navy were brought together for the occasion. He testifies: “I have known the army sector since I was little because both my parents are in the military. I attended military school and currently I am in alternating on the Hyères naval air base. Today, I was able to exchange with sailors and Alat pilots [light aircraft of the army], they answered all my questions. I also discussed with the navigating mechanic, it was very enriching. Currently, I am in aviation license. Later on, I would like to work as a helicopter pilot in the Alat.”

Marius Vaulot, 21 years old, a student at Polyaéro in aviation, is interested in navy and army pilots. He dreams of being a commercial airline pilot in civilian life, discovering other possible careers. He testifies: “There are several in my class who want to enlist in the army. This day is a good continuation, it is consistent with our training because we discover new technologies, like drones.”

“As a former student, my testimony can help them”

Gaël, a former student of Polyaéro and currently a helicopter pilot in the national navy in Hyères, was present that day. After his studies, he joined the national navy to become a helicopter pilot. Just back from Tahiti, he spoke with the students who, for some, want to be inspired by his career. Gaël found the day interesting: “We want to present our trades. It is related to their studies and as a former student, my testimony can help them in their orientation. I saw several students interested in my career path who are thinking about defense trades.”
