On Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Ciné Cité association is offering two evenings of film screenings followed by discussions with the film teams at the Planet’Ciné d’Alençon (Orne). The program includes sessions dedicated to raising awareness about autism and the journey of a child facing armed conflicts.
An evening focusing on autism On Monday, April 27 at 8 p.m., a first evening is organized in partnership with Ornéode and Autisme Basse-Normandie. Ornéode, formerly known as Adapei de l’Orne, supports people with disabilities and promotes their inclusion. Two films directed by Tarik Ben Salah will be shown as part of this autism awareness initiative. The first short film, “Vulnerables” (52 minutes), explores the life of a young autistic man and the measures taken after his disappearance. The second film, “L’après-nous” (24 minutes), addresses concerns about the future of autistic individuals. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director Tarik Ben Salah and the producer Daoud Tatou.
“Around the World with Autism Event” The event aims to be open to all, with the goal of helping the public better understand autism and engage in discussions based on the films presented, as explained by Françoise Arsicaud, president of the Ciné Cité association.
A childhood story during wartime On Tuesday, April 28 at 8:30 p.m., the audience will have the opportunity to discover “Allah n’est pas obligé,” an animated film directed by Zaven Najjar, adapted from the novel by Ahmadou Kourouma. The story follows Birahima, who leaves his native Guinea to visit his aunt in Liberia. Along the way, he encounters child soldiers who change his destiny.
The screening will feature the screenwriter Karine Winczura, who will engage with the audience after the screening. In the afternoon, she will also speak to students in the cinema option at the Marguerite-de-Navarre high school.
The film schedule is as follows: “Vulnerables” and “L’après-nous” on Monday, April 27 at 8 p.m., and “Allah n’est pas obligé” on Tuesday, April 28 at 8:30 p.m. Admission is 5 euros.
