In this area of Chaumont where culture takes on both senses, as contemporary art merges with the care of plants and their staging. This new edition offers a visit to thirty small gardens, like thirty gems, precious, beautiful, and often funny too.
Reflecting the space titled Festival des Cannes, C / A / 2N / E /S, we are surrounded by red tapestries, stepping on red carpet, with duck-headed cane handles planted in a cool mist.
The place called “les jardins de Tati” is a little jewel of humor and poetry. Artificial and uncomfortable perfection in a first part inspired by the film “Mon oncle”, with square slab and fountain. We then move on to a space with a taste of childhood reminiscent of the feature film “Jour de fête”, with carousel and candy vendor.
A space full of flowers and mirrors echoing Christopher Nolan’s “Inception”, with silhouettes amidst ferns leading us to Jurassic plants, actress Sabine Azéma takes us to view “Silly symphonies”, an old classic by Walt Disney, and a personal favorite for the Avatar garden, inspired by James Cameron’s film.
A paradise on earth, with a turquoise pool, bamboo canopy, natural shade, and refreshing plants. One would dream of settling there forever and living on love and virgin colada by the water’s edge.
The International Garden Festival of Chaumont-sur-Loire, hurry up, it’s until November 1st!
