For Secours populaire du Finistère, access to culture is just as essential as food aid. The association is behind the second edition of the “Pop culture” event. Saturday May 9, 2026, 300 people receiving assistance, from the four Breton departments, enjoyed a beautiful day of festive solidarity at the Ateliers des Capucins, in Brest. Brest residents passing through the largest covered square in Europe were also able to have access to activities: world games, Breton and Cuban music, climbing, face painting, balloon sculpture, mascots, theater, historical visits to the Capuchins and the “70.8” ocean museum and plastic arts workshops.

The concerts attracted music lovers.

“I am happy to have been able to present my wooden sculptures inspired by literature,” testifies the South Finistère resident Richard Guéguen. The joy was also in the talent of Mena, the caricaturist. Children, parents and grandparents particularly enjoyed being chewed to keep an unforgettable memory. “The smiles on the faces say a lot about the success of the meeting,” testifies Jean-Luc Dubois, departmental secretary in charge of culture.
