PUBG will therefore implement from the start May 21 on consoles an all-new temporary game mode inspired by games Payday. This update has already been available since May 13 on the PC version. During this event, which extends until June 25players can participate in the assault of four heists straight out of the Starbreeze license. In fact, it is possible to participate in the iconic Money Exchange, Diamond District, Nightclub and Road Rage heists, where the chest drills will make maximum noise.
We thus find all the very essence of Payday in this Battle Royale, since the developers of Starbreeze worked directly on this game mode, in order to guarantee maximum fidelity. We find the gameplay loop of the license, based on infiltration, waves of police officers in abundance, and high-risk extractions. In addition to the familiar faces linked to the different masks, those who try their hand at payday will be able to meet iconic enemiessuch as the fearsome Bulldozers, and the indomitable Cloakers knocking you to the ground with a single kick.
This collaboration allows in particular PUBG to extricate itself from the prism of Battle Royale, by in turn offering new and atypical collaborations. In the same way as a certain game from Epic Games, known by the sweet name of Fortnite. . . . Gi Hwan Park of PUBG Studios announced :
« The most important starting point of this collaboration was the direction to follow to evolve PUBG. Not to keep it as a simple battle royale game, but to transform it into a gaming platform capable of hosting various genres and gaming experiences […] We wanted to show that within PUBG: Battlegrounds, even an entirely different genre than battle royale can be fully realized. »
On the side of the robbers Payday 3this collaboration between the two games allows them to recover cosmetics inspired this time by PUBGobtainable for free via four in-game contracts, from May 26 and available without time limit.
As a reminder, PUBG: Battlegrounds is available for free on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S. The PUBG x Payday collaboration began on PC on May 13, and will begin on May 21 on consoles. It will end for everyone on June 25, 2026.
