PUBG: Battlegrounds offers a new temporary game mode in collaboration with Starbreeze Entertainment, the creators of the series Payday. Soberly titled “Payday”, this PvE mode allows players to carry out heists in cooperation.
Heists and cooperation in the program
Available on PC until June 17 and on consoles from June 21 to 25, this mode invites players to infiltrate high-risk locations to capture valuable loot, while fending off waves of enemies. The emphasis is on coordination and strategy, offering an alternative to the classic battle royale gameplay of PUBG: Battlegrounds.
Players can choose from five classes: Assault, Medic, Tank, Sniper, and Ghost. Each class has unique strengths, ultimate skills and specific gadgets to support the team and achieve objectives. As the missions progress, it is possible to unlock additional skills and weapons by collecting loot and completing heists.
Missions take place in urban environments inspired by Payday 3including The Exchange, Diamond District, Nightclub and Road Rage. The main objective is to grab cash, gold or jewelry before escaping.
A thematic event pass
In parallel with this new mode, an “Event Pass: Payday” is available, offering cosmetic items on the theme of Payday and additional rewards. Update 41.2 also brings new running animations with melee weapons, a new secret room in Miramar and the latest Survivor Pass, “Urban Animals”.
Starbreeze Entertainment, for its part, welcomes this collaboration. According to Adolf Kristjansson, CEO of Starbreeze AB, transposing the spirit of Payday In PUBG: Battlegrounds is a pride and a privilege.
