On this Wednesday, June 17, 2026, KRAFTON has rolled out a new update to its flagship game PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. Stamped 42.1, it obviously brings its share of new features, including one that particularly interests us as fans of PC hardware.

From today, and for a period of two weeks (until July 1, 2026 at 9 a.m. precisely in France), KRAFTON is launching a new game mode in the beta phase: the Ally Duo. Those who play PUBG are obviously already familiar with Duo mode which allows you to collaborate with another player, Ally Duo mode replaces the second player on the team with a IAbaptisée Ella.

This in itself is not a surprise, since KRAFTON and its partner on the project, NVIDIAhad already communicated on this subject several times. We mentioned it for example three months ago on H&Co. Behind this Ally Duo mode lies the technology NVIDIA ACEwhich aims to make in-game interactions with NPCs as realistic as possible. In addition to her actions, Ella will communicate vocally with you, to the point that it will be possible to develop strategies like a real duo, we are promised.

If you want to test it, whether out of genuine interest in the technology or, on the contrary, out of a desire to try to undermine this AI and all the buzz around it, there is a big “but”. As NVIDIA ACE is in charge, you absolutely must have at least an RTX 2080 Ti or RTX 3060 to try it, and it is even recommended to have an RTX 4070 and 24 GB of RAM for this to happen in the best possible conditions. That’s because it seems greedy, this NVIDIA ACE…!
